The following images will appear on the reels during spins:
- Low-paying symbols consist of five different runes.
- Medium-paying symbols depict a raven, snake, ram, wolf, and a zombie girl.
- High-paying symbols are illustrated as mutated versions of the medium-paying symbols, which do not appear until the Ritual Bar is filled to at least the first level.
Wins occur with a minimum of three identical symbols placed on adjacent reels. Their position on the grid does not matter, and combinations are determined from the left side of the screen. In a 5×4 grid, the number of possible winning matches is 1024. With an additional row, the number increases to 3125.
In Blood & Shadow, all winning combinations vanish from the screen, making room for new symbols to fall. If new combinations appear on the reels, the process repeats.
Bonus Game and Special Symbols
In the base game, the Ritual Bar is located beneath the reels.
It fills gradually when Scatters, depicted as hearts, appear and when combinations of medium and high-paying symbols are formed:
- Each Scatter fills the Ritual Bar by 10 points.
- Each medium-paying symbol in a combination adds 1 point.
- Each high-paying symbol contributes 2 points.
The Ritual Bar has five levels. To progress to each level, a specific number of points must be collected: 20, 30, 40, 60, and 80, respectively. After reaching each level, the bar resets to zero.
With each increase in the Ritual Bar, a specific low-paying symbol stops appearing, while one medium-paying symbol transforms into a high-paying one. Before each spin, the Ritual Bar resets to zero, requiring players to fill it again.
The first type of bonus in Blood & Shadow is called Candle Spins. It activates when the Ritual Bar reaches the first level. The player receives two free spins. During these spins, the Wild symbol locks in place and remains until it participates in a winning combination. For every filling of the Ritual Bar during Candle Spins, the player receives an additional two free spins. Also, at the start of each spin, the bar value does not reset.
The second type of bonus is called Cursed Spins. It triggers during Candle Spins if the player fills the Ritual Bar to the fifth level. The player is awarded six free spins, which add to any remaining from Candle Spins. During this bonus, the bar beneath the reels disappears, opening an additional row. The game is played on a 5×5 grid.
During Cursed Spins, only high-paying symbols, Wilds, and a special symbol called xSplit appear. The last symbol adds a x2 multiplier to all symbols in the row or on the reel when it appears.
